Tribals:  Tribals are quite simply species which lack any definite civilization or population.  There are many peoples, but there are also those who are few, far between, and rare.  Tribals contain their own statistics and abilities, but lack a culture or civilization, and are generally NPCs and story chars.  Players need special permission to play them.

Ferals:  Ferals are those unevolved ancestors of current species.  They are not sentient, but are still often treated with respect and wonder.

Animals:  Animals are generally those animals which are of little threat, such as common wildlife, pets, and livestock.
Beasts:  Beasts are those animals which pose a significant threat, and are generally either run from, or killed on sight.  Beasts can be a threat, and even kill people.

Monsters:  Monsters are those beasts which are especially ominous and lethal, and seem to actually be based around harming people.  Also grouped in this category are otherworldly creatures, abominations, and creations of magic.  There are also evil cultured beings, too simple or weak to be classed as a demon, who are intelligent or even sentient, but thrive of the death and destruction of people.
Demons:  Demons are monstrosities of massive destruction.  They are rarely of this world, and always bad news...  Demons come in countless shapes and sized, each hideous and grotesque, or diabolical.  And each well carved for their deeds...

Voani:  Voani are the arch-demons.  A single Voani has been and is well known to be capable of slaying dozens of people at a time.  Voani carry immense power, capable of summoning demons and corrupting the landscape, driving animals mad and corrupting the souls of the weak-willed.  A Voani may never be killed, their souls trapped in eternal torment inside relics, often gems.  While they can be banished for some time by destroying their vessel, they will only return, free, to be slain again, trapped in a relic, and the process repeated.  The only way to truly stop a Voani is to possess their relic, and not succumb to their temptation.

Seraphim:  Often depicted as simple people with wings, Seraphim are like Voani in their uniqueness.  Each has their own special form, and special purpose.  However, they are very rarely seen.  What few tales of them exist are in ancient history only.
