Added a new armor class:  Cloaks!  They can be used to faintly parry weapons, acting as a very weak shield.

Yet again!  More armor.  This time, a whole new class.  'Light' armor types are armors that an be worn in conjunction with the 'unarmored' skill, and don't hinder speed of movement.  They offer very little protection, but are good for mages, thieves, or others who wish >some< modicum of defense without sacrificing any speed.  Monks are a good example.

New game underway!
Had to add new armor, new medicines/potions, and new gems/reagents.  Also a few minor updates.
Also added some neato new spells.

Well, that's done.  Due to Nivik and Sanjian leaving FNAR, everyone died.  The Butcher killed Rita, Sanjian, and Narkul.  And none of the other players are regular enough to warrant continuing the game.

Moving on to the next one.  I'm accepting NEW chars for it.  This time, i'm culling the players down to those I feel I can rely on.  If you were at the games frequently (or have honest-to-god unstoppable plans to be) then go ahead.
This game ISN'T for people who log in, angst, and log out after 1-2 poses (if even that amny.)
This game ISN'T for people who idle for 10-15 minutes every 10-15 minutes.
This game ISN'T for people who show up once or twice a week.

It's for people who want to play daily, or damn-near daily, for several hours at a time.  Yes, people with no life.

It'll be at least a day before the game is ready.  So you have 24 hours to work on your char, at least.

 

Also, i've cleaned my gamecache.  Any char still in the DB is evicted from their game and playable.  But you still need a NEW char for the new game.

This is getting to be too much.  People idling mid-game, idling 1-2 poses in and not returning, people joining, then not posing at all.  People not showing up until 2-3 hours after the game's started, without excuse after promising to be there.  It's destroying the game.
Make an effort to get things straight before the game, okay?

I'm changing the show-up reward procedure.  I'm gonna keep tally on people's quality AND presence, now.  The reward is also much higher.
I'm 'scoring' every game's players now.  In addition to the 1-5 EXP reward for RP quality and participation, i'll be reward people who show 'loyalty'.  I beleive in positive reinforcement.
5% of your current EXP will be rewarded to the player who is most active between 5-10 PM.  That is, players who pay attention to the game, pose on time, and don't excessively idle.

Today, we had all but one player idle at nearly the exact same time, and NO players show up until over an hour after the game started.
Between lack of attendance and lack of attention, this >IS< going to destroy the game.  So i'm not asing again.

I've no qualms ending the game.  It's proven to be unproductive thus far, and I could enjoy a nice non-multiplayer game like Might and Magic 6 just as much.

Also, a tip for people in the game:

I'm not kidding about wanting players to team up in the game.  The game is much faster and easier if you work together than if you all wander off different places.  I've been lenient, but now i'm running the game by the system.  All enemies are quite hard.  If you find one alone, you probably won't survive.  You may have noticed that the temple doesn't insta-heal either.  This is a hard game, centered around player cooperation.
Make a friend.

Also, some news:

I'm a bit concerned at how slowly the games are progressing.  It took one group two hours just to order food.  Players should make an effort to speed things up, join together in quests, and complete them.  A lot of work can get done here, if you'll just do it.
Also, idling without warning and just taking forever to pose is unacceptible.  You're taking too much time.  If you're liable to be very idly, simply opt out until you get things cleared up.  If you have to idle suddenly or unexpectedly, a little [brb] isn't too hard to type.  RL happens, we'll understand.
I will begin awarding EXP for players who are attentive, and maintain both decent poses and acceptible pose speeds.

Finally, due to lack of presence, I need to delegate some of the chars' control.  All players need to send me a small .txt via email explaining how you want me to play your character in your absence, if it becomes necessary.  [Don't just refer me to your sheet.]  Once quests are undergone, chars will be locked in for several game days, and even multiple RL game sessions.  Players can't be expected to make them all, so I need delegation.  EXP will be halved (or worse) for delegated chars, but it's better than nothing.  =D  It's also better than messing up the quest.

Also, we need an apprentice.  Or everyone's screwed.

Small updates.  CharDB updated, i've deleted all the sheets older than May, due to concerns I have about updating them.  Many sheets are out of date, and even incompatible.

Besides, they haven't been used since May.  What good are they?

Also added some new spells and equipment.  Nothing major.  Also cleaned up the main pages;  The news page now loads in 2 seconds on 28.8 dialup!

IRC is now our OFFICIALY means to meet, since so far not a single member has had a problem getting on.  Way better turnout than the MUCK!  So i'll remove the GMUD download, and the tutorial site is already updated.

Tonight's game was, overall, and total success!  I'll be holding it every night from 5-10.  If you come earlier, I might start early.  >;)  I may also play past 10.. depends on how I feel.

New equipment added to weapons and armor.  CharDB updated.  And there's a new version of BMF to add once I get a chance to test it.  This raises the maximum char limit from 21 to 50.

Also, a note to players:
I don't have a lot of rules for PoP.  The only rule I heavily enforce is to be kind to other players, IC and OOC.  If you cannot do that, we don't want you here.  It doesn't matter how well you RP, or how much you say you do or can contribute.  If you tell me you're incapable of showing simple kindness to another person, you aren't PoP material.
You'll also never have a job, a girlfriend, or a life.
Simple kindness and basic respect, and a little bit of manners, are not just traits;  They're a necessity.

So don't think that storming off is going to make us miss you, because your ego is too big to refrain from insulting others.
